choosing a school for dental assisting? private colleges? HELP!?

Question by *bee*: choosing a school for dental assisting? private colleges? HELP!?
I live in southern california, I have tried community college and its extremely hard to get the classes I need.
There are three schools I have looked into, these are close to me as i do not want to have to drive far:
1.) American Career College (ontario, CA)
2.) Carington College (pomona, CA)
3.) Everest (ontario, CA)
American career college is the least expensive at 17,000 for the whole program
Everest is the most expensive at 20 some thousand
PLEASE i need advice on these schools if you went there or know anyone that went there?
OR if your currently a dental assistant
what should be some questions that i should be asking these schools? what is most important things to know when going to a private college such as these?
I feel like im not getting all the information i need, and if im gonna be having to pay this much and have to take out a loan i want to KNOW THAT I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE
whats the difference between
certificate or diploma?
what about accreditation??
advice??? anything helps as i dont know any people in the career that i can ask

You are seriously considering spending $ 17,000 to learn how to be a dental assistant?????
OMG – that’s crazy!
Don’t you have some sort of health professions school out there in CA that you can attend, for less money? Or a different community college than the one you tried? I’ve never heard of tuition like that in my life! Are you sure it’s not 17 HUNDRED?
If you’re going to spend any kind of real money, get into dental hygiene. You will never recoup that kind of tuition as an assistant. Those figures are nuts.
E-mail me and send me links to these web sites, if you have them. Something’s gotta be wrong here.
