Well there is quite a difference, as an assistant you help the Dentists do their job, your in with the patient helping them as much as possible, and with further training you can become an Dentist yourself. Now as a receptionist, you sit behind a desk in the office and register the patients coming into the office. It all depends of what you want. Career wise your better off going into Dental Assistant if you want to go further into the dentistry field.

  • Dr. Kailey DMD says:

A receptionist is working at the front desk! Since Im a dentist i would say assistant cause it is more fun and hands on. Plus it gives u a better opportunity in getting a higher job. I think that if u are going to be an assistant u will get a job right away. It might take some time getting a receptionist job.
