Question by Savannah: Dental Assistant, THEN Dental Hygienist?
I am a senior in Highschool. I have finally figured out what i want as my career. I want to be a Dental Hygienist. I know i want to go for the 1-yr program to be a dental assistant, then continue to be a dental hygienist. BUT i dont no what the difference is between a Masters, Associates, and Bachelors…. ALSO i dont have a good GPA its 2.45, so i am going to a community college, I am thinking Grand Rapids Community College, but i want to no the BEST one in michigan specifically for Dental. ANY help is awesome, epsecially on the masters associate and bachelors stuff. Thank you!

Grand Rapids Community College offers programs in both dental assistant and dental hygienist. Any community college program is going to be about the same. You could do the dental assistant program first but I don’t think that the classes will transfer to the dental hygienist program. When you finish the dental hygienist program, you will have an associates. A bachelors degree is a 4 year program and a masters comes after a bachelors.
