Question by michael j.: dental hygienist people? questions.?
I am a freshman in college, starting monday – and well.. I got low grades throughout HS and I seriously didn’t try to excel in my classes. I regret it now though. I want to start anew and live a good life for me and my baby. I got preg. at 18 and decided that I need to obtain an education in order to get a good job to support my child. I am taking low classes in college, (right now) since it’s the start of college, but if I am determined, can I get into the dental hygienist program? and get a job? I am going to a community college BTW.

Please do NOT become a dental hygienist if you need a full time job! There are very few jobs for hygienists right now.
I suggest going for nursing (RN), LPN, or dental assistant instead. These fields have more job openings compared to dental hygiene. Please talk to a career counselor at the college but do NOT go for dental hygienist.
