Get your R.N. or your B.S.N.
Nurses in New England make 35.00 per hour with all the overtime you want.
A Registered Dentist Hygienist probably makes a little less.

From the searching I’ve done, dental hygienists make slightly more then RNs starting out, but RNs have more earning potential after some experience.

I was looking into both programs, but I’m opting for nursing because I’ve read that a lot of dentists only hire hygienists for 2-3 days. This means hygienists usually work in several office to get near 40 hours of pay, but may or may not get insurance. (When I did a job search on Monster and Career Builder, most of them were only for PT and partial benefits.) If you live in a big city though, it’s a lot easier to find 1 FT or 2 PT!
