Waste of time. (well, education is never a waste of time.. BUT you don’t NEED any degrees to get into assisting)
Find a dental assisting course and take it.

  • Captain T says:

Some dentists will hire a person without any schooling and train them to be a dental assistant (that is what i did..i do have a degree but in psychology). If you can’t find a dentist that will take a chance on that, you can go to a community college and get a degree in dental assisting. You don’t make all that much as an assistant though, so i would go to be a hygenist if you are going to go to school for something in dental. They make like triple what an assistant does!

  • CDA~NY says:

Check with your state’s requirements for dental assistants (www.danb.org). Not all state require licensure, but some do.

Dental assistants make excellent salaries once they’re licensed and/or certified.

    Good luck!
